I currently offer an Interpersonal Skills Group for
young women (18-30 years old) who would benefit from learning to communicate
more effectively and build successful relationships in their personal and
professional lives.
The group is based
on the Interpersonal Effectiveness Skills training module of Dialectical
Behavioral Therapy, designed to help individuals successfully assert needs and
manage conflict. The training focuses on mastery of the following skills within
a safe group environment:
Effective assertiveness
Asking for what you need
Saying no
Negotiation
Coping with conflict
Developing these
skills helps equip group members with the tools they need to engage and
maintain genuine, healthy relationships in all areas of their lives.
The Interpersonal
Skills Groupincludes both a
teaching component, where members learn new skills, as well as a process component,
where members share their feelings and practice interpersonal skills within the
group setting.
Interpersonal
Skills Groupmembers are asked to make a three-month commitment. There are a
maximum of 6 members per group.
